Acting & Voice
I am a British actress and voice artist originally from Manchester. I trained at RWCMD in Cardiff and am currently based in London.
My previous work includes; theatre, circus, physical theatre, repertory, Shakespeare, children's theatre, storytelling, puppetry, roleplay, immersive, interactive, film, television, radio and voice work.
I love my job.
I am also an experienced improviser and deviser and often collaborate with new writing and script development.
I particularly enjoy dark humour, but this hardly ever gets me into trouble and I have previously developed and created work with companies including: Punchdrunk, Secret Cinema, Waking Exploits, Baz productions, Elan/Frantoio, Knaive Theatre and many others.
Current Projects, Credits & Voice Reel
My first full length play Killing Time – a dark comedy exploring legacy, inspiration, music and the right to die – was nominated for Best New Play in the 2017 Off West End Awards.
Word Mills Productions was founded in 2016 by Brigit Forsyth and Zoe Mills. Killing Time was a co-production between WMP and Dead Letter Perfect and enjoyed a successful run at the Park Theatre, London in Spring 2017 before a short tour to Wales and The Lowry, Salford.
Aside from short film scripts, monologues / duologues and experiments in audio, I have been busy with my new play Oracle – a surreal comedy for a cast of eight exploring power, stories, rage and the frustrations of modern urban life.
Word Mills plans to collaborate with creatives in the digital field and Christian From (Movement Director), to explore the use of handheld projection in staging Oracle. We will be looking at making a play that can work in non- conventional theatre spaces, as well as on stage.
I would like to write for radio and podcast this year, and longer term hope to write for film and television too.
